BIA Will Help You Become a Teacher
There is no better time to prepare for an adventure abroad than now. Having a certificate in TEFL gives you an advantage in a competitive global market. Boston International Academy has developed a TEFL course that serves all the needs of the developing educator. Refresh your grammar, practice the latest techniques for teaching language, and learn to market yourself as an EFL professional.
Course Variety
We offer ongoing courses in TEFL. Our comprehensive 12-week TEFL course is designed for international ESL students at the advanced level or higher. The course follows two strands. The first is in Advanced ESL, where students enhance their skills as English speakers, particularly their speaking and academic writing skills. The second strand is in teaching, where students learn and practice language teaching techniques. The two strands connect through peer teaching, where students are assigned concepts to teach each other and receive feedback on their approach. The focus is on goal-driven lesson planning and focus-on-form in the classroom.
Small Class Sizes
At BIA, we guarantee that your class size will not exceed more than 9 students. Classes are kept small to ensure that you receive more one-on-one attention from your instructor, ensuring you get the help and attention you deserve.
Extensive Teaching Practice
A combined 10 hours of observation and teaching practice in an actual EFL classroom will help prepare you for your own journey as an educator. In order to pass the course, students are required to complete a 45-minute teaching practicum and deliver five observed lessons of varying lengths.
Teaching Certificate
Upon successful completion of the TEFL course at Boston International Academy, you will be qualified and ready to teach anywhere in the world.
Course Fees
The non-refundable application and course materials fee is $130 total.
