Translated by Kelly Choi The former Creative Korean Party leader, Kook-hyun Moon, visited Boston and had a meeting with the MIT students. Moon was invited as a lecturer for MIT Sloan School, in which he gave a lecture regarding “Strategies on human resource, Social participation of Cooperation, and Sustainable development.” Soon after his lecture, he will be departing to Toronto on Saturday April, 23rd 2010. On April 21st, 2010 he had an open discussion time with MIT grad students at Yasu restaurant located in Brookline. According to Moon, he explained “students recognized me from the lecture poster, and they invited me at dinner. We discussed the issues on how it is difficult in pursuing a Ph.D degree, getting a job in Korea as well as position as a professor in Korea.” “Given the fact that Korean students from Boston will be potential world leaders therefore it is crucial for the Korean society to be involved with the global concerns.” Said Moon. There were approximately thirty grad students involving in the open discussion at Yasu. “It took me about forty minutes to get in touch with Moon. We started from a small talk to his future political plans.” Said Seungjae Ha, Ph.D candidate majoring in electronics. According to Ha, “Unlike other politicians, his impression was exactly same as what I imagined. We both have the same vision. That is, we should focus into investing our time and people.” Moon was happy to take pictures with people who recognized him and they thought he was very friendly. Moon was a former CEO of Yuhan Kimberly, and he was a Creative Korea Party’s president candidate in 2007. He was a former member of congress since 2008. However, he was defeated due to highly political-motivated charges. Currently, he is the president of the New Paradigm Institute. |
