I don't know if it's legally wrong, but I think it's morally wrong. You should say something as a human being. I know that most Koreans don't wear shoes in the home, so to have random people come in wear shoes inside is like someone wiping dog pee and poop on your bed (since that is what is on the sidewalks in Boston). Furthermore, they broke your things -- they should reimburse you for your broken things. If they had given you sufficient notice and had gotten your permission, then you could have cleared away those things on that day ahead of time, so that your things don't get broken. It's what I would have expected and wanted. Also, if they want to paint your living space, they must warn you because it is a safety hazard, since the paint fumes can make you sick if you are there. I don't think that they are mistreating you because you are Asian or a student. It's more likely that your landlord is just a rotten person, and it has nothing to do with you. Some Americans are still very "opportunistic" and see other people as dollar-signs and as means to their own ends, instead of as persons that they should respect. Again, it's probably not you personally, but it is just an American habit to mistreat others in this way. The character of the American has always been this way, since the conception of this nation. You should fight for yourself, and say something, and improve these people with their bad habits. Speak up! It is a matter of justice and human dignity -- and so this is more important than what the mere law is or isn't. | |

| 만약에 재계약 안한다고 했을경우 노티스없이 집 보러 올수있어요. 근데 리스 연장하겠냐는 편지도 안보내주고 계약 끝나면 나가라는 말 같네요. 어쩔수없을듯... 미국에선 싸인 안하면 아무런 효과가 없어요ㅠㅠ | |
