9월 SAT 마무리 점검용 추가 테스트 진행 중입니다. 그리고 해석과 질의응답은 내일 오후4시에 진행합니다

8월 SAT 시험을 치른 뒤, 오늘도 마무리 점검 수업에 참여하는 수험생이 있어 학부모님께 안내드립니다.

8월 SAT 시험은 2018년에 신설된 이후 통계적으로 점수 커브(curve)가 좋지 않았던 경향이 있어 (23년8월 US시험 제외), 가능하다면 9월 시험 응시를 추천드렸습니다.

그럼에도 불구하고, 여름 동안 열심히 공부해온 수강생들의 보상 심리가 작용하여, 이번 8월 시험에 응시한 학생들이 상당히 많습니다.

지난 여름 수강생 중 이번 가을에 대학을 지원해야만 하는 Senior가 아닌 경우라면

이제는 가을학기에 집중하셔야 하는 시기입니다.

통계적으로 진행했던 모의고사 평균에서 플러스 마이너스 30포인트가 예상 점수입니다.

최초 응시부터 6개의 SAT점수가 대학 지원하실때 전송됩니다. 스코어초이스 옵션은 모든 대학에서 허용하는게 아닙니다.

따라서 불필요한 다회 응시는 지양해 주시길 권장드립니다.

[SSLI] September SAT Final Review & Important Announcement

Dear Parents and Students,
This notice has been reviewed and approved by the SSLI Director before distribution.

1. September SAT Final Review Session
We are currently conducting an additional practice test for final review.
The explanation and Q&A session will be held tomorrow at 4:00 PM.
Some students who took the August SAT are also attending today’s final review session, so we wanted to keep you informed.

2. August SAT Difficulty & September Test Recommendation
Historically, since its introduction in 2018, the August SAT has shown a trend of having less favorable score curves
(with the exception of the August 2023 U.S. administration).
For this reason, we recommended that students consider taking the September SAT if possible.
Nevertheless, due to the sense of reward from their summer preparation, many students chose to take the August SAT this year.


3. Focus After September
For students who are not current Seniors and not applying to colleges this fall,
it is now the right time to shift focus to the fall semester curriculum.
After the September SAT, we recommend moving into a more strategic learning plan based on each student’s goals,
which may include:
• ARW (Academic Reading & Writing) for literacy and essay skills
• DSAT full-length mock tests for targeted score improvement
• Research papers and essay projects to strengthen college applications

4. Important Notes on SAT Scores & Test Attempts
Based on data, your average mock test score ± 30 points is the best estimate of your expected SAT score.
Score Reporting Rules:

Up to six official SAT scores are automatically reported starting from your first attempt.
Not all colleges allow the Score Choice option.
Therefore, we strongly advise against taking the SAT excessively without a clear score improvement strategy.
