현재 온라인 수업 위주로 진행하고 있습니다. 하지만 너무 걱정은 하지 마세요. 저희 학생 중 다수가 온라인 수업을 통해서도 SAT 1500점 이상, AP 시험 5점을 받았습니다. 심지어 예전에 온라인 수업을 힘들어하던 학생들도요.

◆ 경력 및 학습 효과

많은 저의 학생들이 SAT English, SAT Math 등을 각 760 이상 받았으며 (물론 SAT Math는 다수 학생이 800점 만점을 받았습니다), 매년 여름, 학생들이 저와 공부하여 Honors Precalculus 및 일 년 수학 과정을 skip 할 수 있었습니다.

Arlington High, Belmont High, Boston Latin School, Brimmer, Brookline High, BB&N, Cambridge Rindge and Latin, Milton Academy, Newton North, Newton South, Phillips Exeter, Phillips Academy 그리고 Wellesley High의 학생들을 가르쳐서 그쪽 커리큘럼 및 학교 시스템에 대하여 잘 알고 있으며 제가 가르친 많은 학생이 단기간에 학점을 올릴 수 있었습니다.

한국에 초등학교때 부터 미국의 중고등학교까지 매년 수학 경시대회에 참가 및 수상한 경험이 있어서 문제를 쉽고 재미있게 푸는 법을 가르칠 수 있으며, 제가 개인적으로 매우 좋아하는 과목들이라 수업을 매우 재미있게 진행할 수 있습니다.

◆ 교육 철학 및 수업방식

학생 개개인의 목표달성과 내신 및 시험점수 향상에 중점을 두기 때문에 충분한 대화 및 수업으로 학생들의 취약점을 알아낸 후 그곳을 집중 공약해 점수를 올립니다.

학생 개개인의 수업효과를 매우 중요시 여김으로 필요에 따라 제가 직접 직접 문제지를 만들기도 하고 필요에 따라 학교 선생님들과 상담도 합니다.

또한 학생들이 대충 알고 있는 것을 그냥 넘기지 않고 충분히 이해했을때 까지 연습 시키며 학생들에게 설명시킬때도 있습니다.

Im an MIT-educated tutor specializing in math, science, and test prep and many of my students have gone on to study at top 30 schools, including Ivy Leagues and MIT. Many of my students have also gotten 800 on both SAT Math and SAT Math 2, 750+ on SAT Reading and Writing, and 5s on the AP exams even in the midst of pandemic! Ive been privileged to help students attending some of the most competitive high schools in the U.S., including Phillips Exeter, Phillips Academy, Milton Academy, Brearley, BB&N, Boston Latin School, Lexington High School, Arlington High School, Belmont High School, Brookline High School, Cambridge Ridge and Latin, Newton North High School, Newton South High School, and Wellesley High School. I believe in in-depth learning. In-depth learning helps my student build the foundation necessary to succeed in their future courses. To facilitate this type of learning, many of my lessons feature derivation of formulas. For the lessons that do not involve formulas, I present a few simple concepts from which we can derive and solve many other problems. My lessons also feature numerous questions to enhance student engagement and to improve student confidence of having them solve the problem on their own as much as possible. I then drill my students with practice problems and get them to explain until Im fully convinced that my students truly understood the material.

Though I specialize in gifted students, I also have worked with students from all kinds of background. Most of my students are either high school or college students, but I also worked with younger students. I also helped some students implement organizational tips and develop study skills necessary to succeed in their future classes. My students are from all over the world--China, France, Korea, Puerto Rico, Taiwan, Vietnam, and United States. To this day, my closest friends are still the international students. English is my second language as well, and I certainly empathize with students who struggle with the English language.
